Tunnelling Operations Turbidity Warning System Print E-mail

Morgan Est Contractors for National Grid
Supply and installation of telemetred groundwater monitoring network, May 2006 ongoing

Supply and installation of telemetred groundwater monitoring networkSupply of a network of groundwater quality telemetry loggers for providing warning of high turbidity for public supply wells for the protection of several Public Supply abstraction wells near Croydon, South London.

The network of 14 systems were located on observation boreholes drilled into the chalk strata nearby to tunnelling operations undertaken by the client for a major construction project for a cable tunnel for National Grid.

The work included provision of roadside enclosures for housing instrumentation and automatic low-flow purge sampling equipment installed in each borehole.

Hawkeye CSO Discharge Alarm System Print E-mail

Licensing and Collaboration Project with IETG Ltd, 2003 - 2006 ongoing
Design, development and supply of the Hawkeye CSO level alarm monitoring system in conjunction with IETG Ltd

HawkEye CSO MonitorThe latest Isodaq Hawk range of telemetry logging technology was originally developed for a joint project with IETG, for developing an ATEX certified integrated Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) level and telemetry alarm monitoring system.

Hawkeye is now used by numerous clients for reducing pollution spills from CSO overflows. The system consists of a battery powered Isodaq designed microcontroller based system that incorporates data logging, GSM modem control and ultrasonic level measurement circuitry on a single board.

All equipment, except the GSM antennae, is normally installed underground in a confined space where intrinsic safety requirements for Zone 1 operation require ATEX certification. Production started in 2004 and by November 2008 over 3000 units have been delivered, mainly to UK Water plcs.

Landfill Leachate Level Alarm System Print E-mail

A Major Waste-Disposal Operator, Sept 2008 - ongoing
Leachate Monitoring at Landfill Site near Reading

Design and installation of GSM based telemetry system for monitoring leachate level and pumping rates at 5 boreholes

Design and installation of a GSM-based telemetry system for monitoring leachate level and pumping rates at 5 no. boreholes.

An ATEX certified intrinsically-safe depth pressure transmitter was selected due to the presence of explosive gases at the site. A Siemens flow-meter was also connected to measure pumped leachate rates. A solar-panel and charger-regulator was provided to trickle-charge the Hawk GSM outstation.

The data from these stations was collected under a service contract by Hydro-Logic's owm FEP6 telemetry server with data then posted to a PC located at the site with internet access to Hydro-Logic's data hosting web-site www.timeview.net. This reduced the costs and increased quality and reliability by eliminating the need for untrained site operatives to operate and maintain telemetry infrastructure.

Ardley Landfill Leachate Level Alarm System Print E-mail

B&M Solutions for Viridor Waste, July 2007
Supply of leachate level telemetry system for Ardley Landfill, Oxfordshire

Ardley LandfillHydro-Logic working alongside B&M Solution (Egniol Ltd) supplied and installed a monitoring network around Ardley Landfill Site.

The network was to monitor the leachate levels in 15 wells around the full extent of the site. The requirement was to monitor the leachate levels to enable the landfill operator (Viridor) to stay within Environment Agency consent levels.

The data from these stations is transmitted to the site office via the GSM network where it is collected via IDQTel for level and alarm monitoring.
