Vaisala WXT520 Weather Transmitter

Full Description

The WXT520 device is really a multi-parameter mini-weather station, but it includes an innovative RAINCAP piezoelectric sensor which estimates rainfall intensity through measuring the drop-size distribution of rain-drops falling onto the stainless steel cap.  The device communicates with any ISODAQ data logger via SDI-12 smart-sensor protocols enabling the simultaneously measurement of wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, temperature, relative humidity in addition to rainfall intensity.

The water-resistant mounting kit is classified to IP66 making it an ideal solution for marine and buoy-based weather monitoring applications.

Key features:

  • RAINCAP piezoelectric sensor for rainfall intensity measurement
  • No moving parts for durability and long maintenance intervals
  • Minimal maintenance requirements e.g annual
  • Easy integration with any ISODAQ Data logger via SDI-12 protocols
  • Measures six essential weather parameters in one rugged instrument
  • Easy integration with ISODAQ's web-based Timeview Telemetry data acquistion and alarm management system

Optional features:

  • Surge protector
  • Solar and AC power options
  • Bird spike kit for deterring birds
  • USB connection for a PC as a service connector/when used as a terminal device.
